The center emphasizes a comprehensive approach to therapy, aiming to foster change in struggling adolescents. It provides a home-like environment, which is designed to help residents apply learned behaviors in both familiar and future settings. A key aspect of Youth Care's philosophy is building a foundation of mutual respect among all participants in the program, including students, therapists, and staff members. This principle underpins the expectation for everyone to treat others with respect. During their stay, adolescents engage in various activities, including chores and counseling sessions, aimed at teaching them respect for others and assisting in their positive development.

I really have so many good things to say about Youth Care treatment center in Draper. In total our child spent about three months in treatment at this location and so much was taken away from it. I definitely have to give a dedicated shout out to our primary therapist Ty McTurk. While we would have had a positive experience with any of the therapist, I’m sure, Ty is the fifth star due to the ability to listen, observe, and communicate. The facility was clean, and the living conditions were op...

My 14 year old son was struggling with trauma and substance abuse and we sent him to Youth Care for help. From the first call I made to the facility I was greeted with kindness and guidance along the way up through discharge. As a parent, especially in crisis, you don't know where to turn and the staff at YC really set my heart as ease. No parent wants to send their kid away and no kid wants to go, but when my son finally settled in he embraced the program and is doing much better. He spent 4...

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I went here as a teenager and it caused me more trauma and depression and suicidality than I went in with. I am 28 now and I couldn't live with not reviewing this place to hopefully save some children from being sent here. They used solitary confinement, a treatment notorious for it's negative effects on mental health, on me for two weeks as punishment for trying to kill myself. And for several days when I first got there as punishment for not takin...

If I could leave 0 I could. I still have nightmares from this place. When you put a bunch of sick kids in a room they feed off eachother and it makes the house miserable. You come out of here a different person (maybe better) but mainly worse. I’ve seen kids get thrown to the ground and put in a hold just for having a panic attack (not hurting others or himself) but they would do nothing when they all saw me pulling my hair out and hurting myself. I got put on blocks from things that comforte...

So I gave it a 4 star and would have gave it a 5 start and I’ll explain why. So the staff that works w the kids are amazing and most genuinely care about helping our troubled teen. Hence why they got sent there. The counselors are great. I just don’t have anything bad to say about them tbh. Now this I will say is a must, if you send your kid send them with shower shoes please. It’s not on the packing list but it should cause my kid got warts on her feet for there because I didn’t send her. Th...

I have recently heard news of one of my sons friends being sent here, and after reading the reviews, I am genuinely concerned for his mental and physical health. I have read about strip searches, abuse, and even solitary confinement as punishment, instead of trying to help their people with their problems. I hope this place gets shut down before anything could happen to that child. One last thing, do NOT read the five star reviews, because basically all of them are bot accounts and are just t...

I can’t even explain how beneficial this program has been for me as well as my family. The program helped me with managing my anger and learning how to control it for the better. I learned many skills, all of which have proved to be useful in so many different circumstances outside of the program itself. It is a very high intensity program, and may be overwhelming for kids their entire stay. With that being said, just like all things, the effort that they put in will be highly beneficial to t...

This is the most efficient way to make your child hate you for the rest of their life. Please please please watch The Program on Netflix and know it’s similar. Your child will undergo strip searches, solitary confinement, attack therapy, physical abuse, sexual abuse, conversion therapy, and will be encouraged or even forced to abuse their peers. Literally not a single person I met here is doing well now. I am personally unemployed, a highschool dropout, and I have multiple extremely serious m...
