Ohio CPS put my granddaughter at this place. She just called me and told me that an older girl beat her so bad that she had to go to the hospital and get her entire body x-rayed and she has a concussion. She is scared to death and no staff is addressing it at all and she has class with that girl everyday still. They claim to help children I wish I could get my baby girl out of there.

I was a resident here not once, but twice. And here is my honest review. I’m giving it 3 stars because it truly is based on your own experience. I found Foundations for living very helpful in many ways, I took a lot from it. Today is my one year home date!!!! I graduated from high school in foundations for living which let me tell you, was an experience😂 a fight broke out in the middle of my grad party there which honestly is an iconic story to tell. The staff (most) are really funny and nice and easy to connect to. You have to find your “comfort staff”. I had a few, certain staff I know I could run to, talk to. Staff would do puzzles with you and set up parties for the unit with a lot of unit activities. Some of my favorite memories from this place was sledding and snowball fights in the winter, the AC kitchen and baking, and one time the staff bought donuts, and we had a donut eating race. The only part in my experience that I feel like wasn’t ideal, my care didn’t need to be that acute. I saw some reviews saying foundations is more like a detention center and in some ways I ageee. A lot of those kids are violent with charges and behavior issues. Foundations for living is a high acute facility in my eyes, as someone who struggled mostly with suicidal ideation, being around a bunch of kids who bullied and wanted to beat me up all the time wasn’t super helpful. But I was able to work around that. They do 3 groups per day, make recovering credits for school easy and manageable. They’re good at correcting behaviors but also praising changed and worked on behaviors. All in all, this place really depends on your situation. Even when I said the place was too lockdown and acute for the care I needed, it was a little much, I still got help from this place. They accepted me the second time with no judgement whatsoever. I finished my first program perfectly. No write ups, got all of my tiers on time, etc. The second time was very close to being the same. When you come here you have to stay in the process as much as you can. It’s not going to be easy but if you cooperate and follow the rules and work on yourself, you’re going to do amazing here. For anyone thinking about foundations, good luck on your journey, and I know you don’t know me, but I am very proud of you for wanting to take that step for help.

This place has constant runaways and subpar security. Police literally don't even help there anymore because it happens constantly. Tons of fighting and abuse within a dilapidated building. Unsafe and terrible all around. I hope they get shut down ASAP

My sister is only 100 pounds and they said she overpowered a security guard to escape. They have not been helping in trying to find her since she left.

i was here a few years ago as a resident and started dating the unit co-lead, he was bringing in vapes for me which was great personally but the facility couldn’t catch me for months and didn’t find out about our relationship for 5 months. the building is so rank and rotten and dirty it’s sad they make children live like that, the unit leads try to bring in things to decorate but putting a sticker on a rotted out wall does nothing. they have staff in and out of there like crazy because everyo...

I’ve never been there, but from what I see from all of these reviews there should be changes there for the better because it doesn’t look good now. It used to be the former Richland Hospital and I wish they would’ve kept Richland Hospital there In my opinion, because I feel for the kids who have to go to this place

I worked at this facility and I really wanted to make a difference in the lives of these young Men and Women , but honestly it was more of a detention home than a treatment facility.
Some of the staff were good folks but some of them were exhausted and drained due to the strict guidelines etc .
I really wish that they would have paid more , paid weekly and worked with those young Men and Women more , also try to get a better understanding of those young folks.

I drove almost an hour to my job as a youth specialist and almost an hour back home .
There were conversations like Mr.Jason why do you want to work with us trouble kids!?
My response ; I once was a troubled juvenile also , but I believe in some folks changing as long as someone believes in them and installs some kind of faith into their minds and hearts .
To be honest , I really wish that I worked there still because of those young folks I was really good at de-escalating situations !
But there needs to be a huge change , a change that we need to see in this World so please y’all change things and please help make a difference before he or she goes back out into the World .
Thank you for your time and God Bless you all .
