Went in the last several months on 2 occasions to visit a family member with cancer. Both times they went to the ER in an ambulance because of stats and the need for transfusions. Both times the hospital was quite filthy including the floor and bathrooms. Like others have said the staff was just not there. The next to the last time they went in by the time family got there he was still sitting in the ER with all other sick people. The last time admitted, a week before passing, the staff ...

Both times the hospital was quite filthy including the floor and bathrooms. Like others have said the staff was just not there. The next to the last time they went in by the time family got there he was still sitting in the ER with all other sick people. The last time admitted, a week before passing, the staff found no medical records even though they were just there less than a month prior. Because no one could locate records they started administering meds without history. Pain meds were wrong and it wasn’t until family raised the roof that the staff finally figured out they spelled the name wrong. WHAT? You don’t ask or even ask for a SSN? Hmmmm. It took multiple requests for status on pain meds. It took over an hour to get help in the room. Lots of teaching students who didn’t even know how to flush the tube before starting the transfusion. Spotsy has some issues.
I don’t like Mary Washington but at this time they seem to be the lesser of two evils. The burg needs some better hospitals

As the day progressed my baby was responding unfavorably to labor—-the nurses as well as the doctor on call Elliot Lucas were always informative of my treatment options and helped me to remain calm by pulling me into their peace. I was never left for very long alone to labor someone was always checking on me and not ONCE did someone leave my room without asking me did I need anything. Anyone planning on delivering a baby here can be rest assured they will find capable and comforting Labor and Delivery as well as postpartum staff. They turned what could have been a traumatizing experience into one where I felt empowered and motivated to be strong. I feel they helped guide me with compassion and expertise to make decisions that were best for mine and my child’s health. I am so grateful for their care. ❤️

Wonderful hospital that took excellent care of my father when he had an outpatient cardiology procedure. The doctors, nurses, receptionists, staff members, and cafeteria workers were always exceedingly friendly. Thank you all for your hospitality and support!

I would like to say thank you very much to the staff at Spotsylvania Regional MC. My father had surgery today to get rid of back pain. Dr. Sharma was the surgeon, did a great job and kept me informed on all sides. I can’t give his nurse Debbie in recovery enough credit. My father wasn’t feeling well after his procedure due to the pain meds and she kept up on everything, was very helpful and instead of just releasing him they are keeping him overnight to make sure the pain meds run their cours...

I went in for having another stroke. After I started to recover and was ready to soon return home, I slowly became lightheaded. My energy levels were dropping. I hadn't eaten in a while, so I asked the nurse for food. I ended up asking multiple times and she never brought me anything. It eventually got to the point where I was highly upset as my energy levels continued to drop and I was moving slowly in my bed. The doctor came back, and we got into a brief argument. He aggressively complained that I seemed fine before, now all of a sudden I'm not fine. It was rather stupid and unprofessional since what do you think will happen when someone needs to eat but they don't get any food? Listen to your patient. Your job is supposed to be to help us. I couldn't lash out on him like I wanted since again, didn't have the energy. I finally was given food after a long time. Immediately started feeling back to normal, proving I knew what I was talking about and they just needed to stop being hardheaded.
On top of that, they never took the IV out my arm. I had to physically take it out myself after I was discharged. Super unprofessional staff.

This hospital stands as one of the least favorable in the region when it comes to wait times, which seem excessively long no matter the hour of visit. An agonizingly prolonged wait for an x-ray and for my wife to receive pain medication marked our experience. Despite acknowledging their oversight, the staff forgot about us again and never returned. Consider this a warning; you might want to seek care at a different hospital.

I highly recommend this hospital. Based on my experience. I transferred my friend from mwh emergency hospital due to fall. We decided to walked out, signed a waiver and try another hospital, because what we did in mwh emergency is just waiting there, it was for more than 3 hours and they only did the triage and this happened not only once but several times long waiting (4-5 hours). She used mwh because it’s very close to her house

So based on my own experienced with Spotsylvania Regional Med, I decided to take her all the way there to emergency. When we get inside the person in the lobby (first window) was quick, nice and friendly it took us only few minutes to get to triage. All nurses and PA were friendly, helpful and informative. We didn’t feel rushed by them when we asked questions. Even though there were a lot of patients inside that time but they gave their best. Btw, I counted the time we stayed from 11:13am and finished by 1:35pm with all the test done from Triage, blood work and CT Scan. Overall we had a great experience. Excellent service 👌👌👌

Ummm hello. Why not close it up. Dr said they didn’t have an orthopedic available so we waited until I had just about had enough. He did an amazing job stitching it up however. Sent us home with zero pain meds. Who does that? 28 hours later back again by rescue squad cause he was utinating heavy amounts of blood. 8 more hours later said they were transferring him to Mary Washington at 8pm. Guess what. No transfer until 10pm. They did not have an urology felt either Staff seemed non concerned Bathrooms in waiting area wreaked of urine. Lack of pain meds going home and while there. They have a great maternity ward but for complex cases do not go there.
