Do not go. I am worse off then before I went in. I was sent home with another patients medication which I took. No one on one therapy, a man came into my room at 3am and sat on my bed. He kept harassing me I never felt safe. Group therapy is a joke most of the therapist have been in a place like this before and you can see them being triggered by other patients. They kept mixing up my meds and didn't even have the correct diabetic meds I take. Had no dignity had to ware scrubs 10 sizes to big...

So I played along so I could get out. I needed to be in an inpatient facility but not there. I fight everyday not to take my life. Staff was nice but very short staffed. Time to close more of the units. We need proper care and you won't get it there

I was admitted to Cedar Hills for S-ideation last February. After a year of reflecting on my experience and scrutinizing my interpretation, I feel safe to write this review. No thanks to CH, I am not suicidal right now but if I ended up at my worst, and this was my only option, I genuinely am unsure if I would survive the choice.
To this day, I do not know what Cedar Hills charges for someone to be here, they were very unclear on expenses, but very clear that if I didn't figure out my insurance by calling Oregon Healthcare from their chorded metal wall phone, that there would be consequences.
The staff at CH put me on medication immediately, which wasnt a problem while I was there and would have been helpful had they provided me with aftercare, and because they didn't was actually destabilizing and just plain physically dangerous. They pulled me out of daily scheduled activities to organize how I was going to pay for their services on their end, but when I became insured, they didnt reflect the change in my paperwork, so did not set up ANY aftercare during my stay, then lied about how easy it would be for me to set up when I was signing my release.
For the week that I was in CH I had a maximum total of 25 minutes of outside time. This includes the 2 occasions where we who had gone to the gym collectively traded 10 minutes of our 30 minute daily workout time for 10 minutes of standing/sitting outside in the paved space between buildings for fresh air, as well as a 5 minute estimated accumulation of 5 minutes total from walking the 20 yards to and from the meal building each day.
While I was here, I started in a higher acuity unit, and it was overcrowded as well as understaffed. The staff did not seem to have training on or care about the emotional wellness of people. Despite the higher acuity feeling more prison-y, with plastic separating patients from staff and more staffing due to its higher numbers, I actually ended up selfharming here, quite unnoticed, though this negligence is appreciated in hind-sight because it started to really solidify my understanding that I had surrendered myself to the wrong people and needed to figure out how to generate new safety countermeasures for myself while I was here.
I should emphasize that self-harm is a deviation from my usual depressive symptoms. I was isolated from my usual healthy coping strategies-music (guitar) and touch (am a massage therapist), for free time, was not offered more than a notebook, 5 or 6 books to choose from, a shared television, and a pile of coloring pages for alternative self-care strategies. I told on myself to staff about my self-harm, but realized that it doesn't matter either way to them, as they did zero follow-up with me, and my psychiatrist was surprised to hear about it when I referenced it at a later time.
As I write this review I realize how long this could become if I go on. I'll just report this final snippet.
I watched a patient throw a balled up empty plastic cup at another patient with increasing force and hostility. The staff did nothing. I reported this to the supervisor at the end of the day, as well as expressing that when I requested to the patient not to throw things at people that they became hostile toward me. I expressed That they had started threatening physical harm on other patients. They literally started flexing and telling a bigger male that was there how they thought they could hurt him, how they had harmed someone in the other hospital they were in because that person had touched them in a way that they hadn't wanted. This patient said they would hurt who had told on them to staff in the unit. I expressed all of this and my concerns of safety to the supervisor and she requested that I go isolate myself in my room when I feel unsafe. < this incident occurred in the lower acuity unit. The nurse I talked to told me the patient needed care to and asked me what I was to have her do.
long story short, we may experience different things, but for these reasons, this hospital is actually unsafe from my experience.

I have nothing but good things to say about this place. My detox was everything but smooth, however, the staff was really attentive and friendly and very professional. They made sure I was comfortable and went far and beyond to assure I was safe during the worst days. Even helping me to get to the ER and back when I got a severe infection on one of my finger. The place is very clean and modern, the food was great. I achieved my goals which were not easy ones! and learned a lot of coping skill...

I felt supported all the way through. By nurses, techs and Doctors . Yes, they encourage you to do the work and effort to ask for what you need and to advocate for yourself, which is great, because, when it comes to detox, you are the one who has to do the heavy work. It should not be easy. It should be a learning experience and something you don't want to have to repeat ever. Even though they offered to be there in case it did happen...
I really want to thank and send my love and gratitude to all the staff of Cedar Hills for making sure I was safe through all my recovery journey until the end of the road. Thank you:)

I only gave this place 1 star so I could write this review. But if I could, I'd give them a -100 and an F-. It's been 6 years since time I spent there both as an outpatient and then as an inpatient. I still experience 'flashbacks' from my inpatient experience. It was so-o inhumane and so horrible. If emotional intelligence was a hiring criterion over there, then 99.9 percent of their entire medical staff would never have been hired. This place should have been shut down years ago. Ago

Just wanted to talk with someone. They sent me to Unity hospital in a security car. All over rated, threatening if i walked away they would call security or police. Entire time they still were not transparent over cost, What my insurance covered and didn't cover. No one talked to me about what things would cost. They forced me to another hospital at Cedar Hills on a five day hold. My last day at Cedar hills i had to pull someone aside and ask. Then they broke cost down. And it was insane. $12,000 for five days of a hold plus an extra 2 days because they were not business days. I DID NOT AGREE TO. I DID NOT AGREE TO BEING CHARGED LIKE THIS AS MY FINANCIAL SITUATION IS ALREADY STRESSED. After insurance and applying for financial help the bill was still at $3,900.00 roughly. Then once out, Cedar Hills began harassing me about the bill. They took no responsibility for the lack of doing their job and explaining to me the cost. Their staff said nothing to me. Then they sent me to a debt collector called Frost Arnett CO. They sent me a debt collection letter. I responded and put it in the mail. They then called me the same day it arrived in the mail. This is borderline harassment. I've responded that the debt is not want to talk about it or their lack of transparency, then immediately threatened to send me to collections (in a bullying manner). Three different hospitals are involved-the county was involved. And i can have a letter written up about it all by the county investigator who said I was fine. I refused medications they kept trying to give me. Literally the most unprofessional medical experience I've ever experienced and had to go through. They make matter worse and bully. I just wanted to talk to a medical professional at my original destination at Kaiser Permanente Hospital. They refused me what I asked for. Stirred me around and slapped a bill to me with no explanation and no help to what they promised. No services received. It was a nice place. The rest was a lie. They take advantage of people.

This place allowed a Person in Crisis (very maniac) out into the public, even though this person had physically assaulted someone inside the facility and this person's guardian said not to release. Now this individual is out roaming Beaverton.
I cannot recommend this place to anyone.
This facility should he shut down.

This place is a joke. They are a business that makes money on the volume of patients, not the care they provide. We need the Medical Board...

We need the Medical Board of Oregon to look into revoking the medical licenses of every "doctor" that works at this facility. They should not be working with people with who have mental illnesses.

Turns out it was actually $1000 for two days! My insurance graciously brought it down to $600 or so. Billing has never provided me with any receipts or invoices though so I only have the word of the sole employee in billing. It would not surprise me if it turned out this place was committing fraud

If I could give 0 stars I would. A loved one was in the facility and was emotionally and physically assaulted. A patient was brought in and became combative/disruptive but was not isolated. Instead they roomed her with my loved one who didn't feel safe and they moved my loved one to isolation cause they didn't want to move. Multiple patients complained about them and nothing was done. They also have multiple lawsuits and I can see why. DON'T TAKE YOUR LOVED ONES HERE

Instead they roomed her with my loved one who didn't feel safe and they moved my loved one to isolation cause they didn't want to move. Multiple patients complained about them and nothing was done.
